Artist Statement
First impressions, we are told, define who people think you are. This philosophy can also be attributed to a company’s branding. If a logo is unmemorable, so is the company. A designer should strive, with every design, to make a lasting impression on viewers. Creating a design often feels like solving a problem to me.  Before I begin working, I look into the story of the company and incorporate aspects of what makes the company unique. Doing this makes a more meaningful and memorable design.  This personalized approach helps me have a deeper understanding of the design I am creating as well as its role within day-to-day life.
Through my work with small designs like stickers and logos, I have learned that colors, type, and layout can make or break a design. I believe designs should be functional and fashionable: eye-catching yet story rich. When I think about my future, I know I want to do something that leaves a mark behind. I find enjoyment in helping to create a brand that will be used for years to come and ultimately creating a lasting impact. For this reason, I chose to pursue a career in graphic design: to leave an impact where there might not have been one before.
